Abies Nobilis (Noble Fir) A tall and slender tree with a narrow conical crown. The Noble Fir can grow up to between 40-70 meters in height yet the growth rate is very slow. The needle-like leaves are a grey/green with narrow silver bands on the underside. A very popular Christmas tree due to its high needle retention rate.
Cones: It produces green and brown cones which are approximately 15-25cm long.
Timber: The Noble Fir is a popular Christmas tree, but the timber is also used for interior joinery.
Soil Types/ Habitat: Prefers deep, moist but well drained, acidic soil. Grows well in cool and exposed sites.
