This member of the Japanese maple family is a slow growing sycamore with salmon pink leaves in spring changing through yellowy green to a darker varigated green later in the year. It will grow to around 5-10m and is fairly hardy in most places in the UK liking full sun to partial shade.
Fruit: The winged fruit about 3cm long, starts pink green and sometimes turns brown as they are allowed to dry on the tree can be planted or the tree can be grown by grafting.
Timber:There is no current usage for timber for this tree at present.
Soil Types / Habitat: Will grow in most soil types eg loam, chalk, clay and sand including salty coastal sites, however water logged sites shoulld be avoided.
