A native conifer with a spreading and upright habit, and produces blue-black berries. Junipers need little if any pruning.
The tree produces greenish, globular shaped berries which ripen to blue-black in 2 -3 years. Each fruit contains 1 – 10 seeds. The fruits are used to flavour gin and season food.
Ornamental carvings. The burnt wood can be used to scent and smoke hams and cheeses.
Soil Types / Habitat
It grows well in poor soil and a variety of habitats.
