Salix Bowles Hybrid- A fast growing deciduous tree which can grow up to 5 meters in height. Tolerant of wet and heavy soils as well as harsh weather conditions the Salix bowles hybrid is one of the hardiest varieties of willow available. Due to its rapid growth rate, it is often used as a biomass fuel for renewable energy production.
Fruit: Male and female catkins appear before the leaves, around March/April times. Male and female catkins are found on separate trees.
Timber: The stems are flexible and can be used in basket making, can be coppiced.
Soil Types/Habitat: Will grow in many soils, especially wet and ill drained areas.
